The Home of Val's Donkeys and the Two Big Guys

This spring we wanted to find a four wheeler to help pull  trailer loads of wood out of the forest and also use it for hunting this fall.     After looking around we decided to purchase a new 2010  Polaris Sportsman 800.    Knowing that Val had never been on a wheeler, Jeff decided to take Val for her first ride.   OMG!!!   0 to 70mph in 5.2 seconds..

Nothing rides nicer than a Polaris  The big twin cylinder seemed to be a bit much power for Val.    More than once she snapped me off the back.

Trust me, Val wasn't smiling in this picture that was caused by G-Force

.

But! Jeff was...

Jeff put the 800 through it's paces.  When he first took off, the front wheels came off the ground and he was off like a bullet.

When he came flying past us at 70 mph, I didn't have time to take a picture..  The truth is, there wasn't much to see anyway.   Jeff looked like he was more than pleased by the Sportsman's performance.

Later he told me that he buried the speedometer and it was still gaining speed.

If you ever want the fear of death put in to you, Try the 800

When Val and I finally got home that day, I soon realized that this is not the wheeler for Val.

She needed something a little smaller

So we started out buying one 4 wheeler to save time in the woods.  One thing led to another and now we wind up with two 'Lean and Mean; Pulling Machines'

Hey!  It was either we get a second machine or I end up with a bad case of whiplash.   You know this thing where the guy drives and the girl rides in back....     Trust Me.  It's not going to happen..

Jeff took the 800 through the swamps and he told Val to follow him and it would be ok..  Yep!  First comes the cargo box for the back of her machine and after that a big pair of big mudders..   The woman is a monster on wheels..

We gave the red one a test and soon found out that it can pull like a mule.
